Sriwijaya Dharmakirti Center

Behind Our Name...
The Srivijaya Dharmakirti Center is named after the Srivijaya Empire, a prominent Buddhist thalassocratic kingdom in 7th-11th century Indonesia, and the renowned Indonesian Buddhist master Dharmakirti (also known as Serlingpa Dharmakirti or Swarnadwipa Dharmakirti), who was a key teacher of Atisha Dipankara Shrijnana during the Srivijaya era.
The name was bestowed upon us by the three great masters: Kyabje Shechen Rabjan Rinpoche, Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche, and Jigme Khyentse Rinpoche.
The center aims to honor the legacy of Srivijaya's Buddhist heritage and the important role of teachers like Dharmakirti in the spread of Buddhism throughout Southeast Asia and Tibet.
